Thomas Piper is a Brooklyn-based independent musician—singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and tech innovator—known for building each song live, layer by layer, on stage. A virtuoso with his Ableton Push, he blends singer-songwriter intimacy with Folk, Pop, and Soul, creating immersive performances that meet life’s challenges with empathy and uplift.
During the pandemic, Piper released Permission to Live, featuring the standout anthem “Turn Your Life Around,” inspiring listeners to take agency over their lives. His upcoming second album deepens that mission, calling for freedom and compassion while galvanizing audiences into epic sing-a-longs. Bridging Laurel Canyon folk and NYC lo-fi with a soulful voice, he has opened alongside Durand Jones (presented by Woodstock Radio) and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, and has been showcased on line-up with GRAMMY®-nominated jazz vocalist Claudia Ańuca.
He’s performed on stages including Lincoln Center’s David Rubenstein Atrium and The Billie Holiday Theatre, and collaborates with brands and platforms such as SoFar Sounds, Korg, Ableton, and ROLI. Beyond music, Piper is a visual artist and director, has written and sung for Sesame Street, and founded Brooklyn’s Future Music in Real Time, celebrating live creation at the intersection of sound and technology.
